SAFETY FEATURES

Solocraft has multiple safety features built into its products, including the SoloBike. Software prevents the rider from falling forward by pushing back when rider leans too far forward, warning tones alert the rider when they are approaching the limit. The app allows the rider (or parent of) to change the mode of the SoloBike to reduce speed and increase stability, or increase the speed of the SoloBike, but only with extreme caution.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Solocraft always recommends as much safety equipment needed for the activities involved with Solocraft products. Helmet, wrist pads, elbow pads, and knee pads are strongly recommended, especially when riding aggressively. Side training wheels, and front training wheel come included with every SoloBike. Installing these training wheels physically prevents the rider from tipping the SoloBike, although trailing wheels should be removed after rider feels more comfortable driving straight without side wheels contacting the ground.

AVOIDING DANGER

Use common sense when riding Solocraft, you should already be comfortable riding straight as an arrow and turning reliably before you attempt any bold maneuver. Flat, dry, even surfaces are the most ideal, because often they are the most consistency. Avoid paths with potholes, gaping cracks, or loose gravel.

PRODUCT INFO

Average range on a full charge is 18 miles before battery is completely exhausted. After 13 miles, the SoloBike reduces power to preserve energy, and low-voltage warning tone will start. Reserve mode will let you move 5 miles of emergency travel before battery is completely exhausted.

SPEED

Out of the box, without changing settings, the SoloBike can travel at a maximum of 9 mph. Using the included app, the SoloBike top speed can be increased or decreased. For extreme riders, 18 mph top speed can be unlocked after downloaded the app, and connecting to the SoloBike. Top speed can also be reduced to 12mph, which is considered an ideal and comfortable speed.

CHARGE TIME

The SoloBike charger can fully charge the Panasonic batteries in 3 hours. The average nonstop use of a SoloBike before it needs to be recharged is 2 hours, but typically riders start and stop frequently, increasing the ride time to much longer.

MOTOR (Made in German)

The SoloBike uses a special high-tech electric motor called a hubmotor, which is inside the wheel itself. The motor is 1000 watts, not 250 watts like traditional hoverboards, or 500 watts like traditional E-bikes, the SoloBike uses a 1000 watt hubmotor.

SEAT

The seat post is standard size and compatible with all traditional bicycle seats. SoloBike comes stock with a black cushioned seat with embroidered SoloCraft logo.
Note: Seat is designed for riders less than 230lb’s, consider upgrading to heavy duty seat if rider exceeds 230lb’s.

HANDLEBARS

The handlebars are standard 31.8mm diameter, standard size for many bikes. The handle bars and handle grips can be upgraded with traditional bicycle handlebars and grips. Handlebars are a great place to mount accessories for your SoloBike.

FOOTPEGS

The stock aluminum footpegs are nice and wide, ideal for cruising, allowing the rider to place their feet in the middle, towards the front or back. Locking feature allows pedals to be secured in the up position for storage, or locked down for riding or used as a bike stand

 
INFLATABLE INNER TUBE

Unlike most hoverboads, which use hard steel wheels with a thin rubber grip, the SoloBike has an inflatable inner tube like bicycles or motorcycles. This cushion of air between the ground and the SoloBike allows for smooth traveling, even over bumps. Any bike pump, or air pump that is compatible with cars or bicycles will also work on the SoloBike, so you can pump up your tire with any traditional hand pump, or from air compressor. 

 
BATTERY

The SoloBike has a massive battery, manufactured by Panasonic. The whole battery is made up of three individual battery packs. Each pack is made of 16 lithium ion cells wired in series, total of ~60v. Two battery packs are wired in parallel, together make up 32 individual 18650 cells, the same lithium ion cells Tesla Motors batteries are made from. This wiring style drastically increases the mAh, the batteries energy capacity. With the two batteries together, the total energy capacity is 5,800 mAh or 5.8 Ah at 60v.
